Keshav Prasad Maurya Pays Tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on their birth anniversaries at his camp office on Kalidas Marg in Lucknow.

Speaking on the occasion, Maurya said Gandhi’s entire life conveyed a message of truth, simplicity and public service and that his thoughts and philosophy continue to remain relevant. He called upon people to draw inspiration from Gandhi’s life and incorporate his values into their daily conduct.

Maurya said Gandhi continues to inspire people across generations and remains a source of inspiration for humanity. He said Gandhi’s ideals would continue to guide efforts towards building a prosperous India. Gandhi adopted truth and non-violence as the principles of his struggle and demonstrated the influence of moral conviction and peaceful action, he added.

The Deputy Chief Minister urged people to pledge themselves to working for the welfare and progress of the nation while following Gandhi’s ideals. He also appealed to citizens to support the vision of an Aatmanirbhar and developed India by promoting indigenous products and encouraging the use of khadi and handicrafts.

Paying tribute to Lal Bahadur Shastri, Maurya recalled his enduring slogan “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan”, saying it highlighted the importance and dignity of the country’s soldiers and farmers. He said Shastri’s simple lifestyle and commitment to public service continue to offer an example for society.

Maurya emphasised that the values associated with both national leaders remain relevant and can serve as guiding principles for social and national development.
