Lucknow: Seth M.R. Jaipuria School, Goel Campus, took a meaningful step towards environmental conservation by joining hands with the Indian Army’s Gomti Task Force for the rejuvenation of River Gomti. As part of a special plantation drive, 250 herbal plants were planted across the school premises with the enthusiastic participation of students, teachers and staff.
The initiative was carried out in collaboration with the dedicated Army personnel working towards the rejuvenation and restoration of the Gomti River. Mr. Alok Jain, Director, Goel Group of Institutions, along with Principal Dr. Rina Pathak, graced the occasion and actively participated in planting saplings, inspiring students to contribute towards creating a greener and healthier environment.
Subedar Kaushal Lal interacted with the students and sensitised them about various herbal plants, their medicinal properties and their benefits for human health and the environment. His informative interaction helped students appreciate the importance of biodiversity and nurturing green spaces.
Mahesh Agarwal, Chairman, Goel Group of Institutions, encouraged students to actively participate in environmental conservation and highlighted that every sapling planted today is an investment in a greener and healthier tomorrow. He urged the school community to nurture these plants with care and transform environmental responsibility into a lifelong habit.
Dr. Rina Pathak, Principal, emphasised that such initiatives provide students with valuable experiential learning. She encouraged them to develop a deep respect for nature and become responsible, environmentally conscious citizens who lead by example.
The plantation drive served as a meaningful reminder of the collective responsibility towards protecting nature and preserving the environment for future generations. The initiative beautifully echoed the message: “Plant Today, Protect Tomorrow.”
