Lucknow: Newly appointed Managing Director of the Pradeshik Cooperative Dairy Federation Limited (PCDF), Prakash Bindu, IAS, inspected milk collection centres and the Parag Dairy processing facility in Lucknow to review operations, quality systems and infrastructure.
On the morning of August 8, Bindu visited the Bulk Milk Cooler (BMC) facility at Pusauli Jagdishpur in the Malihabad area, along with the Hamirapur and Allupur milk cooperative societies associated with Lucknow Milk Union (Parag).
During the visit, the Managing Director reviewed the functioning of Automatic Milk Collection Units (AMCU) and Data Processing Milk Collection Units (DPMCU) installed at the BMC and milk societies. He interacted with the secretaries of the milk societies as well as local milk producers to understand the operational arrangements and issues being faced at the collection level.
The Managing Director also took note of shortcomings identified during the inspection and directed officials to take immediate corrective measures to address them.
Following the field inspection, Bindu visited the Parag Dairy milk processing plant at Chak Ganjaria on Sultanpur Road, Lucknow, which has a processing capacity of approximately 300,000 litres of milk per day.
During the inspection, he reviewed the entire milk-handling process in detail, from milk reception and dispatch to processing, filling and quality testing. He examined the systems and procedures being followed at various stages of production and expressed satisfaction with the work being carried out.
At the same time, he directed officials to undertake further improvements wherever required and ensure that operational and quality standards are consistently maintained.
The inspection was attended by Parag General Manager I.B. Singh, PCDF Officer-in-Charge (Coordination) Ram Charan, Parag Factory Manager Sushma Rani Singh, along with other officers and employees.
The visit is expected to strengthen monitoring of milk procurement and processing operations while supporting improvements in quality control and efficiency across the Parag dairy network.
