Gonda: The Uttar Pradesh government’s Chief Minister Teacher Cashless Medical Scheme was formally launched at a grand function held in the auditorium of the Autonomous State Medical College in Gonda, marking a significant step towards strengthening healthcare security for teachers and their families.
The programme was attended by Rajesh Verma, Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Backward Classes Commission, as the chief guest. District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan, Chief Development Officer Dayanand Prasad, Ramashankar Mishra, representative of Gonda MP and Union Minister of State for External Affairs, Sanjeev Singh, representative of the Kaiserganj MP, BJP District President Akbal Bahadur Tiwari, along with senior administrative officials and public representatives, were also present.
As part of the inaugural ceremony, 34 teachers were presented with symbolic cashless medical cards under the scheme. The beneficiaries included 25 teachers from the Basic Education Department and nine teachers from the Secondary Education Department. The distribution of the cards marked the official rollout of the scheme in the district.
Addressing the gathering, Rajesh Verma said the state government remains committed to the welfare and social security of teachers. He noted that the Chief Minister Teacher Cashless Medical Scheme would significantly reduce the financial burden associated with medical treatment by enabling eligible teachers and their dependents to receive cashless treatment at empanelled hospitals.
He urged all eligible teachers to enrol under the scheme and take full advantage of the healthcare benefits while emphasizing the importance of preventive healthcare and regular medical check-ups.

Speakers at the event described the initiative as a major welfare measure that would ensure timely access to quality healthcare services for teachers, allowing them to focus on their professional responsibilities without concerns over medical expenses.
The event witnessed active participation from government officials, elected representatives, and teacher associations. Among those present were Sadar Sub-Divisional Magistrate Jitendra Gautam, District Inspector of Schools Dr. Ram Chandra, District Basic Education Officer Amit Kumar Singh, Block Education Officer Shashank Kumar Singh, officials from various departments, representatives of teacher unions, and a large number of teachers.
The launch of the Chief Minister Teacher Cashless Medical Scheme is expected to enhance the social security framework for educators in Uttar Pradesh by providing accessible and affordable healthcare through a cashless treatment mechanism at designated hospitals.
