Child Found Under a Handcart Late at Night; Search for Family Underway

Bareilly: Demonstrating prompt response and humanitarian commitment, the Baradari Police Station team and Childline 1098, Bareilly, successfully rescued an abandoned infant who was found lying beneath a handcart at the Satellite Bus Stand late on Sunday night.

According to officials, the child was discovered at around 1:30 a.m. in a vulnerable condition. Upon receiving information, the Baradari police team immediately rushed to the spot, secured the infant, and initiated the necessary legal and child protection procedures.

After the rescue, the child was taken into safe custody through Baradari Police Station. Initial efforts to identify the infant’s parents or relatives did not yield any information.

Following the rescue, the Childline 1098 team presented the child before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Bareilly, which issued the required directions regarding the infant’s care and protection. In accordance with the committee’s orders, the child was admitted to a Government Adoption Unit for proper care and rehabilitation.

Appeal to the Public

Childline 1098, Bareilly, has appealed to the public to come forward with any information regarding the infant’s parents, relatives, or possible missing child reports related to the case.

Officials stated that even a single piece of information could play a crucial role in reuniting the child with his or her family.
