Guru Hargobind Sahib’s Prakash Purab Celebrated with Devotion and Enthusiasm in Lucknow

Lucknow: The Prakash Purab of the Sixth Sikh Guru, Guru Hargobind Sahib, was celebrated with great devotion, reverence, and enthusiasm at the Gurudwara Guru Singh Sabha.

The religious gathering witnessed the participation of devotees from across the city. Members of the Central Istri Satsang Sabha and students of Dashmesh Public School presented soulful Gurbani Kirtan, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere and inspiring the congregation.

During the commemorative event, Bhai Jaskaran Singh highlighted the life, teachings, and invaluable contributions of Guru Hargobind Sahib to the Sikh faith. Addressing the congregation, he explained that Guru Sahib emphasized the importance of combining spiritual strength with the courage to stand against injustice. He also spoke about the establishment of the revered concept of Miri-Piri, which symbolizes the harmonious balance between temporal responsibility and spiritual authority.

The gathering also reflected upon Guru Sahib’s timeless message:

“Bhai Kahu Kau Det Nahi, Nahi Bhai Manat Aan” — meaning that a true Sikh neither instills fear in others nor accepts fear from anyone.

Speakers noted that the teachings of Guru Hargobind Sahib continue to inspire people to uphold righteousness, courage, and service to humanity.

Following the conclusion of the religious congregation, devotees were served Missi Paratha and Mattha as Guru Ka Langar and Prasad.

Among those present on the occasion were Nirmal Singh, Ratpal Singh, Harjit Singh Sarla, Trilok Singh, Parmjeet Singh, Iqbal Singh, Inder Mohan Chawla, Harvinder Singh, Manmohan Singh, along with other committee members and a large number of devotees who participated in the celebrations.
