Gorakhpur: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a sharp attack on opposition parties while addressing the inaugural session of the BJP’s district training camp in Gorakhpur, asserting that nationalism and commitment to Indian values remain the Bharatiya Janata Party’s greatest strengths.
Speaking at a resort near Tenua Toll Plaza in Sahjanwa Assembly constituency under the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Training Campaign 2026, the Chief Minister said BJP workers receive respect in society because their conduct reflects “nationalism and Indianness.”
He alleged that parties such as Congress, Samajwadi Party, RJD, TMC and DMK had lost public respect due to corruption and divisive politics. According to him, BJP workers continue to uphold transparency, integrity, and dedication to the nation’s unity and cultural identity.
‘Nation First’ Is BJP’s Guiding Principle
Addressing party workers on the theme “History and Growth of BJP,” CM Yogi said the BJP has emerged as the world’s largest political party in less than five decades because of its unwavering commitment to nationalism.
He emphasized that BJP has always believed in the principle of “Nation First, Party Second, and Self Last.” He said the ideology and values laid down by the party’s founders continue to inspire workers across the country and among Indians living abroad.
The Chief Minister added that BJP is the only political party that consistently works to connect national security, culture, good governance, and prosperity under one vision.
Congress Accused of Appeasement Politics
CM Yogi strongly criticized the Congress, accusing it of introducing appeasement politics soon after the Constitution came into force in 1950. He claimed that the circumstances which led to the country’s partition were again brought into mainstream politics through appeasement policies.
Referring to the formation of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, he said the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh felt the need for a political platform committed to protecting India’s national identity and future. He praised Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee for resigning from the Union Cabinet and taking up the responsibility of leading the Jana Sangh.
Remarks on Article 370 and Syama Prasad Mookerjee
The Chief Minister said Dr. Mookerjee was the first leader to oppose Article 370 and the permit system in Jammu and Kashmir, which he described as unconstitutional and against national unity.
Recalling the slogan “One Nation, One Constitution, One Flag,” CM Yogi alleged that Dr. Mookerjee sacrificed his life while protesting against these provisions in Kashmir.
Tribute to Deendayal Upadhyay’s Philosophy
Highlighting the contribution of Deendayal Upadhyaya, the Chief Minister said the Jana Sangh leader advocated governance focused on the welfare of the poorest and most marginalized citizens.

According to him, true prosperity cannot be measured by the success of those at the top, but by the happiness and upliftment of people standing at the last rung of society.
He also credited the ideological foundation laid by Deendayal Upadhyay for strengthening non-Congress politics in India.
BJP Worker Can Rise to Any Position: CM
CM Yogi said BJP remains unique because it gives ordinary workers opportunities to rise within the organization. He remarked that even a booth-level worker could one day become the party’s national president, chief minister, or prime minister.
He contrasted this with what he described as dynastic politics practiced by several opposition parties.
Ram Temple Marks Beginning of a New Era
The Chief Minister also spoke about the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, describing it as the beginning of a “new era” and a symbol of cultural nationalism.
He said the temple represented hope and civilizational pride for communities whose traditions and beliefs had historically been suppressed. According to him, the fulfillment of a 500-year-old aspiration reflected India’s renewed confidence and respect for faith and heritage.
Booth-Level Strength Key to Electoral Success
Encouraging party workers to strengthen grassroots organization, CM Yogi said the real strength of the BJP lies at the booth level. He emphasized that booths remain the central point of every election campaign.
Quoting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said, “If the booth is won, the election is won,” urging workers to build strong booth-level structures and remain actively engaged with voters.
Development Exhibition Also Inaugurated
Before attending the training session, the Chief Minister inaugurated a development exhibition at the venue showcasing welfare schemes, infrastructure achievements, and development initiatives undertaken by the central and state governments, particularly in Gorakhpur.
Several senior BJP leaders, MPs, MLAs, district office bearers, and party workers attended the event, including Union Minister Kamlesh Paswan, MP Ravi Kishan, and other regional leaders.
