Minor Boy Honey-Trapped in Lucknow, Woman Booked Under POCSO and Extortion Charges

Lucknow: A serious honey-trap case has surfaced in the Thakurganj police station area, where a 16-year-old minor boy was allegedly lured and taken away by a woman. Police have registered a case against the accused under stringent charges, including rape, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), and extortion.

According to officials, the victim’s mother has appealed to Yogi Adityanath and senior police authorities, demanding strict action against the accused woman and others allegedly involved in the racket.

The complainant has alleged that the accused, identified as Atika Siddiqui, operated the honey-trap with the help of her family members. The group is also accused of demanding ₹25 lakh as extortion from the victim’s family. Sources claim that several members of the alleged gang were caught on camera while making the demand.

The victim’s mother further alleged that the network includes individuals posing as social workers and journalists. These individuals reportedly used social media platforms to circulate misleading videos and create pressure on the police.

Police investigations have so far found the allegations made earlier by the accused woman to be false. Following this, a case has been registered against her under serious sections of the law.

The main accused, Atika Siddiqui, along with her associates, is currently absconding. Police teams have been deployed to trace and arrest the accused, while also probing the wider network suspected to be involved in the honey-trap and extortion racket.

Authorities have assured that strict legal action will be taken against all those found guilty in the case.
