Poster Launch Ceremony Also Held in Lucknow
Lucknow: The cultural programme “Parampara 2026 – An Evening of Music and Dance” was held on Saturday, April 11, at Kala Mandapam Auditorium in Kaisarbagh under the direction of internationally acclaimed Kathak dancer and guru Dr. Akanksha Srivastava.
Earlier, the poster launch ceremony of the event was held on April 9 at the Padmaja Kala Sansthan premises in Indira Nagar.
Speaking on the occasion, Subhash Chandra Srivastava, President of the institution, informed that the programme featured captivating Kathak performances by more than 80 students, showcasing a variety of graceful and vibrant presentations.
Renowned folk singer and Padma Shri awardee Malini Awasthi attended the event as the Chief Guest, while noted litterateur and educationist Padma Shri Vidya Bindu Singh was present as the Guest of Honour.

Several distinguished personalities were also felicitated during the समारोह, including senior vocalist Padma Gidwani, eminent tabla artist Pandit Ravi Nath Mishra, Kathak exponent Dr. Meera Dixit, Manjula Pant, and senior poet Jyoti Sinha.
The programme commenced with a dance presentation titled “Rhythm of Courage”, followed by a Kathak dance-drama based on the theme of motherhood. The concept, script, and direction of the production were handled by Dr. Akanksha Srivastava, while the music was composed by Brijendra Nath Srivastava.
The event also featured pure Kathak performances highlighting intricate layakari (rhythmic improvisation), which captivated the audience.
Lighting arrangements were managed by Manish Saini, and the programme was anchored by senior presenter Dr. Alka.
