Lucknow: The Government of Uttar Pradesh is closely monitoring the well-being of construction workers from the state currently employed in Israel, officials said.
According to M. K. Shanuga Sundaram, Principal Secretary of Labour and Employment, a total of 6,004 construction workers from Uttar Pradesh are presently working with various construction companies in Israel. These workers were selected in 2024 through the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) in coordination with Israel’s Population, Immigration and Border Authority (PIBA).
He stated that the workers are currently performing their duties at different construction projects and the state government is maintaining continuous oversight of their safety and welfare.
In view of the prevailing situation in West Asia, the Embassy of India, Tel Aviv issued a security advisory on February 28, 2026, for all Indian nationals residing in Israel. The advisory urged citizens to remain vigilant, follow local administrative guidelines and avoid unnecessary travel.

The Uttar Pradesh government remains in constant coordination with the Indian embassy in Tel Aviv. J. P. Singh, Ambassador of India to Israel, has informed the state government that the situation is currently under control and there is no cause for concern.
Officials said the embassy is in regular contact with the workers and all of them are safe and continuing their work normally. No requests from workers seeking to return to India have been reported so far. The embassy has assured that immediate assistance will be provided if any Indian worker expresses the need to return home.
