Lucknow: The Jhulelal Jayanti celebrations on March 20 will see Sindhi traders offering special discounts to customers at their establishments on March 19 and 20, according to the Chetty Chand Mela Committee. The announcement was made during the committee’s general meeting, attended by patrons and office-bearers including Mohan Das Ladani, Raja Ram Bhavnani, Ashok Motiani, Ratan Meghani, Sanjay Jaswani, and several other prominent members.
The two-day festival at Jhulelal Vatika will feature cultural programs, live music performances by artists from Bhopal led by Shubham Nathani, and Sindhi folk songs. Devotees will also have the opportunity to witness the majestic idol of Lord Jhulelal and enjoy thematic tableaux conveying social messages.
A variety of food stalls offering traditional Sindhi delicacies will be set up for attendees. The celebrations will include a grand collective Aarti at 8:30 PM, where devotees will light Aarti lamps in unison.
In addition, the festival will observe the Mundan ceremony for newly born children at the Jhulelal temple near Shani Dev Mandir, Clarke Avadh, continuing the traditional practice of performing sacred rituals on this auspicious day. The Jhulelal Jayanti is considered highly significant for the Sindhi community, celebrating devotion, culture, and social values.
