Bareilly: Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University has achieved a significant milestone on the global academic stage by securing a strong position in the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities 2026, released by the Cybermetrics Lab.
According to the latest ranking, the university has secured 262nd position in India and 1650th rank in Asia, reflecting its growing academic presence and digital outreach. The Webometrics ranking evaluates universities worldwide based on parameters such as digital visibility, quality of academic content, impact of research publications, and accessibility of knowledge resources on the web.
The ranking includes leading global institutions such as Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Stanford University, making Rohilkhand University’s achievement noteworthy in the international academic landscape.
University officials credited the accomplishment to the guidance of Anandiben Patel, who serves as the Chancellor, and the continuous support from Raj Bhavan authorities. Under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor K P Singh, the university has strengthened its focus on education, research, and digital academic initiatives.
Speaking on the achievement, Prof. K. P. Singh said the recognition is the result of the dedication and hard work of faculty members, researchers, students, and staff. He emphasised that the university’s aim is not merely to improve rankings but to contribute to society through knowledge creation and dissemination.
Officials added that the university is actively promoting research activities, expanding digital resources, encouraging quality publications, and strengthening global academic collaborations. The institution remains committed to achieving new benchmarks in education, research, and innovation while further improving its global standing.
