Raebareli: Under the third phase of the Student Police Experiential Learning (SPEL) programme, operated by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, training was imparted to selected students at Unchahar Police Station in Raebareli district.
The programme was conducted under the able guidance of Superintendent of Police Ravi Kumar and close supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police and Nodal Officer SPEL, Sanjeev Kumar Sinha. The participating students were nominated by District NSS Nodal Officer Gautam Gupta from designated educational institutions.
During the training session at Unchahar Police Station, the local police team provided hands-on learning experiences aimed at developing leadership qualities, social responsibility, and community service values among youth. Students were given practical exposure to aspects of discipline, law and order management, traffic control, and community coordination.

In addition, the participants were encouraged to actively engage with different sections of society and take part in cleanliness drives, awareness rallies, and public outreach programmes. Officials highlighted the importance of fostering a spirit of civic responsibility and cooperation between the police and the community.
The primary objective of the SPEL programme is to enhance students’ cognitive and life skills through experiential learning. The initiative is expected to benefit students in their future careers while also offering the police an opportunity to build a network of “Police Mitras” among the younger generation, strengthening trust and collaboration between law enforcement and society.
