Lucknow: Lucknow witnessed a unique confluence of art, spirituality and nature as talented photographer Puneet Katyayan presented his special photo exhibition ‘Gajanan’ at Kala Srot Art Gallery. The exhibition features 38 astonishing natural formations resembling Lord Ganesha, discovered on tree barks and captured through his lens, leaving visitors spellbound.
‘Gajanan’, a revered name of Lord Ganesha symbolising wisdom, auspicious beginnings and the remover of obstacles, forms the spiritual core of the showcase. Katyayan has meticulously identified naturally formed shapes on tree trunks that mirror the divine figure and documented them with artistic precision.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Padma Shri awardee Anil Risal Singh along with other distinguished guests. Organised on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri, the event drew a large gathering of art lovers, senior artists and students.

Puneet Katyayan, an independent photographer and visual storyteller from Lucknow with over 15 years of experience, studied at Lucknow University College of Arts. He has previously worked as an Art Director with leading advertising agencies and currently serves as an Assistant Professor at Amity University Lucknow, mentoring young creative minds.
His celebrated ‘Tree Bark Series’ reflects the deep connection between nature, spirituality and human consciousness. Through images emerging in hues of red, brown and slate grey, the exhibition delivers a powerful message of environmental conservation—finding divinity even in damaged and aging trees. Senior photographer Anil Risal praised the show as an innovative and sensitive blend of technology and artistic expression, highlighting photography as a meaningful medium to understand both society and nature.
