IACC gives latest UP Budget a Thumbs Up

Lucknow: UP’s Budget 2026–27, tabled recently, is being viewed positively by industry leaders for its strong emphasis on industrialisation, MSMEs and infrastructure development. With an outlay of over ₹9.12 lakh crore, the budget includes ₹27,103 crore for industrial development, ₹3,822 crore for MSMEs, and flagship initiatives such as the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan. This marks the 10th consecutive budget of the state, reflecting continuity in its vision to position Uttar Pradesh as a major industrial economy of the country.

The Indo American Chamber of Commerce has praised the budget presented by the Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister, stating that it will motivate industry and strengthen the state’s economic framework.

Key highlights include a 19 percent increase in allocation for micro, small and medium enterprises, ₹1,000 crore to promote young entrepreneurs with a target of setting up one lakh micro enterprises annually, and ₹27,103 crore for infrastructure such as industrial corridors, expressways and roads. New initiatives like the Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Employment and Industrial Zone, investments in textiles and IT, and the AI City proposal in Lucknow further reinforce the goal of achieving a $10 trillion economy and generating large-scale employment.
