Washington: A new documentary film based on the life of US First Lady Melania Trump is set to offer a rare and intimate look into her personal and public world. Titled “Melania”, the film focuses on a crucial 20-day period just ahead of President Donald Trump’s second-term inauguration.
Melania Trump will host a special screening of the documentary at the White House. According to her advisor and agent, Mark Beckman, the private screening will be attended by the President, members of the Trump family, and close friends, marking the first time they will watch the complete film together.

The documentary captures seldom-seen aspects of Melania Trump’s life, including her private moments, fashion choices, diplomatic engagements, and the security protocols of the US Secret Service. The trailer features notable scenes such as Melania wearing a navy-blue wide-brimmed hat on Inauguration Day and advising President Trump with a calm, conciliatory tone ahead of his inaugural address.
Global Release on January 30
The film is scheduled for a global release on January 30, 2026. It has been produced under a reported $40 million deal with Amazon’s MGM Studios. Beckman clarified that Melania is not a political film, emphasizing that Melania Trump herself led the creative direction of the project. Alongside serious moments, the documentary also includes lighter, humorous interactions involving President Trump.

Follow-Up Documentary Series Planned
In addition to the film, a follow-up documentary series is slated for release next year. The upcoming series will focus on Melania Trump’s key priorities, particularly issues related to children in foster care. Following the White House screening, the President and the First Lady will attend the film’s official premiere at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
As part of the promotional campaign, Melania Trump will also ring the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange. The documentary aims to reshape public perception of the First Lady during President Trump’s second term, portraying her as a figure deeply involved not only in fashion and diplomacy but also as a trusted advisor to the President.
The film presents Melania Trump as a more engaged and influential presence, offering audiences a nuanced portrait that goes beyond her traditionally low-profile public image.
