Uttar Pradesh Day Celebrated with Grandeur at Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University

Lucknow: Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) marked Uttar Pradesh Foundation Day with great enthusiasm on Saturday. The celebrations showcased the state’s rich cultural, historical, and social heritage through a series of vibrant student-led performances. Under the guidance of Hon’ble Governor and Chancellor Smt. Anandiben Patel and the direction of Vice-Chancellor Prof. J.P. Pandey, the program began with a short film highlighting Uttar Pradesh’s journey from its origins to modern development, blending cultural, historical, and social facets.

Students brought the stage alive portraying Lord Ram and Lord Krishna, representing the sacred land of Uttar Pradesh. They also depicted various facets of Lord Shiva in Kashi, while students portraying Goddess Vindhyavasini captivated the audience with their performance. The event featured collective dances and songs celebrating the state’s diverse traditions.

Uttar Pradesh’s cultural richness was further reflected in colorful rangoli and paintings created by students, depicting the state’s temples, landmarks, and historical heritage. Competitions saw participation from multiple faculties, including the Center for Advanced Studies, Faculty of Architecture and Design, Faculty of Management, and Faculty of Pharmacy. Students also delivered speeches on the state’s social, cultural, historical, and scientific contributions and participated in a quiz highlighting general knowledge about Uttar Pradesh. Winners of the competitions were felicitated, and students presented brief insights into all 75 districts of the state.

Prof. Rajiv Kumar, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, highlighted the glorious heritage of Uttar Pradesh, noting the state’s vast potential and talent and urging youth to contribute to a developed India. Registrar Reena Singh emphasized that while the state’s past is proud and its present strong, its future is bright, calling for continued efforts to preserve its heritage while advancing development. Finance Officer Keshav Singh underscored the importance of understanding the state’s golden history to shape a promising future.

The program commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting by Prof. Rajiv Kumar, Reena Singh, Keshav Singh, and Dean of Student Welfare Prof. O.P. Singh. The event was coordinated by Prof. O.P. Singh, conducted by Dr. Anuj Kumar Sharma, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Ayush Srivastava. Faculty members, students, and staff including Prof. Ritu Gulati, Deputy Registrar Dr. D.P. Singh, Dr. Akash Ved, and assistant registrars Ranjit Singh, Sunil Pandey, and Shivam Gupta attended the celebration.
