Major General B Cornelius, VSM (Retired), 47th Colonel Commandant of the Corps of EME passed away at Command Hospital, Kolkata on 14th Jan 26 due to cardiac arrest. Hailing from the officer was survived by his son Colonel Robin Cornelius and daughter Mrs Deborah Singh.
The officer was commissioned in the Corps of EME in June 1963 and had an exemplary career spanning over 35 years. He was a committed officer and served the organisation with high standards of integrity, professionalism and unwavering sense of duty.
Major General B Cornelius, VSM (Retired) was laid to rest with military honours at Nishatganj Christian Cemetery at 2 PM on 16 January 26. The funeral rites was attended by large number of serving Army personnel and veterans with wreath being laid on behalf of Army Commander, Central Command and Director General of EME & Colonel Comdt of the Corps of EME.
