Delhi: Actress Kritika Kamra, who has spent much of her life in Delhi, says her deep connection with the city helped her immerse herself in her role in the upcoming film “The Great Shamsuddin Family”.
Directed by Anusha Rizvi, the slice-of-life movie was shot entirely in Delhi and celebrates the city’s warmth, humor, and everyday chaos. Kritika shared with IANS, “In many ways, this movie felt like coming home. Every street reflected something from my own life, and every corner we filmed in had a memory.”
She added that shooting in Delhi made the experience more authentic and enjoyable. “Everything enhanced the experience, including the food, people, and city energy,” she said. Kritika also praised the cast, calling the group of women she worked with “remarkable,” and commended Rizvi for creating a warm and realistic world.

The film portrays a single day in Delhi, focusing on Bani, whose flat is visited by family members, cousins, and former love interests, each bringing their own dilemmas. Bani must navigate interfaith issues, generational conflicts, and career decisions, deciding whether to pursue opportunities abroad or remain close to her family.
The movie also features Juhi Babbar, Farida Jalal, and Shreya Dhanwanthary in prominent roles, highlighting the essence of a middle-class Delhi household.
