Farmer Abducted in Lucknow, Murdered in Raebareli; Body Burned in Unnao — 5 Arrested

Lucknow: A shocking case of murder over a land dispute has come to light in Uttar Pradesh, involving the abduction and killing of farmer Shiv Prakash. The 25-year-old case investigation revealed that the murder was orchestrated due to disputes over multi-crore land assets. Police have arrested five accused individuals linked to the conspiracy.

According to ADC South Lalapalli Basant, the partially burnt body of Shiv Prakash was recovered along the highway in Bighapur, Unnao. Following identification, the police launched a manhunt to apprehend the culprits.

The dispute arose from a private plotting site in which part of Shiv Prakash’s land was included. His elder brother had already sold his share, but the portion belonging to their mother was willed to Shiv Prakash. Using a power of attorney, the elder brother, through middlemen, also sold their mother’s land. When Shiv Prakash discovered the fraudulent dealings, he filed a lawsuit and was actively pursuing legal action.

In response to his resistance, middlemen began threatening him to withdraw the case. However, when he refused, a broker from Nagaram, Sujit Srivastava, conspired with his associates to eliminate him.

Gruesome Details of the Murder
Sujit Srivastava confessed to the police that he purchased fake mobile phones and SIM cards to plan the murder. On the evening of November 15, Shiv Prakash was lured near Lalpur Tower, forcibly taken into a car by Sujit and Dilip, and transported to Raebareli via service and link roads to avoid detection.

In Raebareli, Shiv Prakash was strangled to death inside the moving vehicle. To dispose of the body, the accused drove to Bighapur in Unnao, doused the corpse with petrol, set it on fire, and dumped the charred body along with the victim’s mobile phone on the highway.

Police have arrested Sujit, Raju, Vinod, Pintu, and Lalu alias Neeraj in connection with the murder. Investigations are ongoing to uncover any further accomplices involved in the crime.

The case has sent shockwaves across the region, highlighting the dangerous consequences of land disputes in the state and the lengths to which criminal elements may go to silence victims.
