Mumbai: Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty has once again come under the scanner in the ongoing ₹60 crore fraud investigation involving her and her husband, businessman Raj Kundra. The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Mumbai Police conducted an extensive five-hour interrogation at her Mumbai residence late Monday night.
According to sources, the EOW team questioned Shilpa regarding bank accounts, financial transactions and documents linked to an advertising company allegedly used for the fraudulent dealings. Shilpa reportedly handed over key documents and bank details, which are now under examination.
Both Shilpa and Raj Were Company Directors
Investigators believe that the company through which the alleged fraud took place had both Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra as directors. The agency is thoroughly scrutinizing the firm’s financial activities, investment deals and money flow.
Earlier, Raj Kundra had also been questioned for several hours. So far, the EOW has recorded statements of five individuals, including Kundra, and is analysing multiple financial documents and bank transactions.
The ₹60 Crore Allegation
Businessman Deepak Kothari filed a complaint accusing the couple of cheating him in the name of a loan-cum-investment deal worth ₹60 crore. Based on this complaint, an FIR was registered in August at Juhu Police Station.
Lookout Notice Issued Earlier
Due to the seriousness of the case, Mumbai Police had previously issued a lookout notice against Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra to prevent them from leaving the country.

Shilpa has assured authorities of her full cooperation in the investigation.
What’s Next?
The EOW is now verifying:
- Company bank records
- Investment agreements
- High-value transactions
- Role of other associates and witnesses
Officials hinted that more people may be summoned in the coming days as the probe deepens.
With the spotlight back on the couple, the case is turning into one of the most closely watched financial investigations in the entertainment industry.
