Mumbai: Actor Angad Hasija, who is currently seen as Yash Vardhan in Tumm Se Tumm Tak, produced by Studio LSD, believes that while talent can help an actor make a mark, it is respect, relationships and the way one treats people that truly shape a long-lasting career. For Angad, success has never been just about the number of projects he has done, but also about the relationships and trust he has built along the way.
Sharing a lesson that has stayed with him throughout his career, Angad recalls advice from one of his directors. “I still remember something one of my directors told me years ago. He said, ‘Angad, an actor may keep working for 19 years, but if he is known as a good human being, he will never have to worry about sitting at home without work.’ That stayed with me because he wasn’t talking about acting skills. He was talking about character.”
For Angad, being a good human being begins with respecting everyone on set. “For me, being a good person means respecting everyone on set. It doesn’t matter whether it’s your co-star, a spot boy, the assistant directors, the production team, or the director. Every interaction counts. People notice how you behave, and over time that becomes your identity.”
The actor believes that a career is built through countless small moments that may not always be visible. “We all focus on performances, but there are many little things that shape a career. I genuinely believe I have been able to work consistently because I have always valued relationships. The industry has given me a lot, and I feel grateful for that. Many of the people I met through work are no longer just colleagues. They have become family.”
He adds, “I have also been lucky to work with directors who continue to trust me. The show I am doing today is my third project with Yusuf sir, and that itself says a lot.”
Talking about how that trust played a role in him being considered for Yash Vardhan, Angad says, “When the discussions for Yash Vardhan’s character were happening, the entire story was narrated to the channel. After the meeting, everyone was on the same page. The director, the producer, and Rekha ma’am, Studio LSD’s Business Head, all felt that I was the right choice for the role.”
For him, the decision was a reflection of more than just his acting abilities. “For me, that decision was not just about acting. It reflected the faith they have in me as a person. Trust like that is earned over time. If you can balance professionalism with genuine warmth, people remember it.”
Angad also shares a special bond with Studio LSD, having worked with the production house previously. “This is my second show with Studio LSD after Suman Indori, and we signed another project together very quickly. We have built a wonderful equation over the years. Prateek is also a very close friend, and I truly value those relationships.”
The actor feels that sometimes an individual’s own attitude can become the biggest obstacle in their career. “Ego can quietly damage a career. At the end of the day, every actor decides what kind of reputation they want to build. Talent is important, but attitude decides how long people want to work with you.”
“There are so many gifted actors in our industry, and production houses have access to incredible talent. But if someone is difficult to work with or doesn’t treat people well, eventually others hesitate to collaborate with them,” he adds.
For Angad, success is therefore not measured merely by the number of projects he has been part of, but by the respect and relationships he has earned over the years. “I have been fortunate to build relationships that have lasted for years. I truly cherish the bond I share with Studio LSD and with many people across the industry.”
He believes that the biggest reward of his journey is the trust people have placed in him. “Today, when a role suits me, many producers don’t even ask whether I am interested. They simply call and say, ‘You’re doing this.’ For me, that trust is the biggest achievement. It tells me that people believe in me not just as an actor but as a person.”
