Lucknow: Preparations are in the final stages for the establishment of the “United Global Vice Chancellor Peace Foundation”, an initiative aimed at bringing together the education sector of India and the international academic community on a common platform. The foundation’s headquarters will be based in Lucknow, with regional offices to be set up in around 10 major cities including Jaipur, Delhi, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Mumbai, and Chennai.
The foundation’s primary objective is to create synergy between India’s education system and global academic frameworks. Its agenda includes strengthening school and university education, promoting skill-based learning, spreading awareness of India’s traditional knowledge systems, and encouraging local tourism. A strategic roadmap will also be prepared to contribute towards the vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047.” In addition, emphasis will be placed on fostering research and establishing collaborations with international universities.
Recently, a meeting of eminent educationists was held at the Constitution Club in Jaipur to discuss the foundation’s roadmap. To ensure smooth functioning, a panel of former and serving vice chancellors has been formed. The responsibility of mobilizing resources has been entrusted to Prof. America Singh. According to organizers, the foundation will become fully operational within the next three months.
Land has already been earmarked in Lucknow and Jaipur for the construction of dedicated buildings for the foundation. Operating as a non-governmental entity, it aims to engage in meaningful dialogue with vice chancellors and senior professors at both national and international levels.

Among the leading educationists associated with this initiative are former Vice Chancellor Prof. Ratanlal Godara, Vice Chancellor Prof. D.P. Tiwari, former Vice Chancellor Prof. Gulab Jaiswal, and Prof. Shailendra Chaturvedi. Around 25 vice chancellors from across India have already joined the campaign and are reaching out to universities to expand membership.
Notably, membership in the foundation will be offered free of charge. The initiative has generated significant enthusiasm within academic circles, with educators welcoming it as a positive step toward strengthening India’s global educational presence.
