Uttar Pradesh to revamp bus port infra in collaboration with Omaxe

LUCKNOW – The Uttar Pradesh government has taken a significant step towards upgrading the state’s transport infrastructure. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh laid the foundation stone for the redevelopment of six major busports.

Four of the six busports, which will be developed by Betogether, a subsidiary of the Omaxe Group, under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, have had their foundation stones laid. The locations for these four are:

  • Lucknow (Vibhuti Khand, Gomti Nagar)
  • Ghaziabad (Old Bus Stand)
  • Prayagraj (Civil Lines)
  • Ayodhya Dham

Additionally, Betogether will also develop busports in Lucknow (Amausi) and Ghaziabad (Kaushambi). The total investment in this project is approximately Rs 2,700 crore.

These new busports will be more than just transport centers; they are designed to become integrated transit hubs and commercial centers. They will feature modern amenities such as automated ticketing, digital schedule boards, air-conditioned lounges, escalators, lifts, and smart security systems. The hubs will also include EV charging stations, food courts, retail outlets, office spaces, studio apartments, and banquet halls. The strategic locations near major residential and commercial sectors are intended to boost connectivity and serve as centers for economic and community development.

“This initiative to modernize busports is a major step towards strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s urban progress and connectivity,” said Mohit Goel, Managing Director of the Omax Group and Founder of Betogether. “Our goal is not only to improve passenger facilities but also to generate economic opportunities.”

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Masoom Ali Sarwar (IAS), Managing Director, UPSRTC; Amit Gupta (IAS), Chairman, UPSRTC; Mohit Goel, MD, Omaxe Group; and Sunil Kumar Solanki, President & Business Head, Betogether.
