Israeli Embassy Employees Shot Dead in Washington: Netanyahu Vows “Blood for Blood”

Jerusalem : In a shocking act of violence near the Jewish Museum in Washington D.C., two Israeli embassy staff members — including a woman — were fatally shot. According to local police, the attacker was taken into custody soon after the incident and was heard chanting slogans in support of Palestinian independence. The U.S. authorities have described the incident as a terror attack, prompting a stern response from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Netanyahu Demands Full Details from U.S. Administration

Prime Minister Netanyahu expressed strong displeasure over the killings in a conversation with U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi. He also spoke with Israeli Ambassador to the U.S., Yechiel Leiter, demanding a complete briefing on the incident and offering full support to embassy staff.

Attorney General Bondi shared all available information regarding the attacker and the two victims, assuring Prime Minister Netanyahu of the Biden administration’s commitment to justice. She emphasized that President Donald Trump is deeply concerned about the attack and that every effort will be made to ensure the perpetrator faces the full force of the law.

“Blood Will Be Paid with Blood”: Netanyahu’s Strong Words

Offering his condolences to the families of the slain embassy employees, Netanyahu described them as a young couple who were soon to be engaged. In a stern message, he thanked AG Bondi and President Trump for taking a clear stand against antisemitism.

“This tragic event is yet another brutal reminder of the cost we pay for antisemitic incitement and hatred against Israel,” Netanyahu said. “When a bloody war is waged against the people of Israel, it must be answered with force. Blood will be paid with blood.”

The Prime Minister also called for enhanced security at all Israeli diplomatic missions worldwide, urging immediate action to safeguard Israeli personnel.

Attacker a Pro-Palestine Extremist?

A video of the alleged attacker has surfaced, showing him firing shots and later being apprehended by police. In the footage, the suspect can be seen shouting “Free Palestine” while being restrained.

Washington Police Chief Pamela Smith informed reporters that the victims were exiting a cultural event at the museum when the shooting occurred. “Preliminary findings suggest the attack was carried out by a lone individual,” she said. “The assailant opened fire on a small group leaving the venue and then fled inside the museum, where he was apprehended.”

Security has since been tightened around the Israeli embassy and nearby Jewish institutions in the area.

As investigations continue, global attention remains focused on the implications of this violent act and how it may influence U.S.-Israel relations and tensions in the Middle East.
