New Delhi: In a strategic move, the Congress party has entrusted Priyanka Gandhi Vadra with the responsibility of spearheading its campaign for the Delhi Assembly elections. This decision comes in light of Rahul Gandhi’s reduced activity due to health issues.
According to media reports, Priyanka Gandhi, Congress General Secretary and Member of Parliament from Wayanad, is set to launch an intensive campaign starting January 26. A senior leader associated with Congress’ campaign management in Delhi confirmed the development.
Priyanka Gandhi is scheduled to address her first rally in northeast Delhi on Sunday evening, marking her formal participation in the party’s efforts for the elections. A senior official from the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) shared that numerous Congress candidates have requested Priyanka to campaign for them in their respective constituencies.
The move reflects Congress’ intent to leverage Priyanka Gandhi’s popularity to strengthen its position in Delhi, where the party has been striving to regain its foothold.
