Faithful donate at Sabarimala with a open heart

PATHANAMTHITTA: The Sabarimala temple has officially closed for the year following the Mandalam-Makarvilakku pilgrimage season, marking the culmination of a major religious event. Over 53 lakh devotees visited the temple, a significant increase from last year’s 46.77 lakh. This surge in pilgrims also led to a rise in temple income, which saw a nearly ₹90 crore increase from the previous season. The temple’s revenue, including ₹127 crore from hundi collections and ₹192 crore from aravana sales, will support over 13,000 households and strengthen the financial foundation of more than 1,250 temples under the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB). The Thiruvabharanam procession, which will reach Pandalam on January 23, marks the conclusion of this year’s pilgrimage, with the TDB continuing to process funds from various locations like Nilackal, Pampa, and Erumely.
