IT City and Wellness City Expansion: Over 660 Acres to Be Acquired

Lucknow: The 183rd meeting of the Authority Board, chaired by Dr. Roshan Jacob, Chairman of the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) and Divisional Commissioner, resulted in the passage of several key proposals aimed at enhancing Lucknow’s infrastructure and development. The meeting, held in the Parijat Auditorium, addressed significant urban planning and citizen welfare initiatives. Key highlights include:
  1. Education Hub Development on Mohan Road:
    A massive education hub spanning 102 acres will be developed under the Mohan Road scheme.
  2. Promotion of Electric Vehicles:
    To encourage eco-friendly transportation, 20 electric vehicle charging stations will be constructed across the city.
  3. Group Housing Development:
    Approval has been granted for group housing projects on plots of 2,000 square meters or more in old schemes of the LDA and Improvement Trust.
  4. Relief for Displaced Residents:
    Residents of Akbar Nagar, Bhikhapur, and Butler Palace Colony will benefit from an interest-free payment scheme. They can now pay the fixed price of their buildings in 10-year installments.
  5. Mandatory Solar Rooftop Installation:
    To promote green energy, it will be mandatory to install solar rooftop plants on buildings constructed on plots exceeding 100 square meters. The initiative aligns with the PM Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme, which offers grants ranging from ₹45,000 to ₹1,08,000 for private residences. This rule, however, applies only to new construction projects and not to pre-existing buildings.
  6. Expansion of IT City and Wellness City:
    The IT City and Wellness City residential schemes on Sultanpur Road and Kisan Path will be expanded. Additional land acquisitions include:

    • 539 acres in villages Mohari Khurd, Mohari Kala, and Siddhpura for IT City.
    • 127 acres in Village Mastemau for Wellness City.
  7. Flexible Payment for Increased Area in Allotted Properties:
    Allottees will get up to one year to pay for any increase in the area of their allotted properties.

    • If the area increase is up to 10%, payment will be charged at the original allotment rate.
    • For increases exceeding 10%, payment will be calculated at the prevailing market rate.

These measures reflect LDA’s commitment to fostering sustainable development, addressing housing needs, and encouraging clean energy adoption in Lucknow.
