Lucknow: State Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi held a review meeting regarding Kisan Credit Card, Digital Crop Survey and Farmer Registry in his office at Vidhan Bhavan. Along with this, he also held a meeting regarding the implementation of DSR technology of paddy sowing.
During the review meeting organized regarding Kisan Credit Card, Digital Crop Survey and Farmer Registry, he said that the program of Kisan Registry is being run. Under this, farmer identity cards will be issued to the farmers. For this, farmers will be made aware by organizing camps in villages. He told that this registry can be done in four modes.
The first mode is by himself, the second mode by Common Service Center, the third mode by assistant and the fourth mode by joining the departmental camp, farmers can register themselves. He instructed the representatives from the banks to speed up the process of making Kisan Credit Cards. He also instructed that the maps of the villages should be matched with the maps available with the villagers.
This program should be conducted in coordination with the Revenue Department. The meeting was attended by Additional Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Ministry, Government of India, Dr. Pramod Kumar Mahendra, Chief Knowledge Officer Rajiv Chawla, Principal Secretary Agriculture Ravindra, Secretary Agriculture Anurag Yadav, Director Agriculture, other senior officials of the Agriculture Department and representatives of banks.
During the meeting held on DSR technology of paddy sowing (technology of sowing paddy directly in the field i.e. in which transplantation is not required), the Agriculture Minister instructed that before making this technology available to the farmers, all its possible challenges should be considered. It should also be kept in mind that this technology should be effective on the agricultural conditions of Uttar Pradesh. During this meeting, Principal Secretary Agriculture Ravindra, Secretary Agriculture Anurag Yadav, Director of International Rice Research Institute Sudhanshu Singh and World Bank representative Ajitha Radhakrishnan were present.
