Those who spoil atmosphere in Mahsi of Bahraich will not be spared: CM Yogi

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued stern directives to take swift and strict action against those responsible for disrupting peace in the Mahsi area of Bahraich. In a clear message to the officials, the Chief Minister emphasized the need to identify the miscreants and ensure that they face severe consequences for their actions.

The instructions come in the wake of tensions in Maharajganj market, where stone-pelting incidents occurred during an idol immersion procession, leading to clashes between two communities. The unrest resulted in damage to the market, prompting a massive deployment of police forces to maintain law and order.

CM Yogi Adityanath further directed officials to ensure that the idol immersion process continues uninterrupted and urged them to work in close coordination with religious organizations to ensure timely completion. He reiterated that the safety of the public is paramount, instructing both the administration and police officials to be present at key locations to manage the situation and reassure the public of their safety.

Additionally, the Chief Minister called for a thorough investigation into the incident, stating that action will also be taken against those whose negligence contributed to the escalation of violence.

With heavy police deployment already in place, the administration is taking all necessary measures to prevent further unrest in the area.
