Lucknow: Truely speaking, Teachers are the real unsung heroes of our society. They work relentlessly to educate, mentor, guide and shape the young minds of today in oder to craft the world of tomorrow. They are the key at the transformation core of human existence and excellence. Their selfless devotion to duty, courage of conviction, professional acumen and patience bring out the best in the students.
Apart from these, and in my opinion, teachers are important for many reasons, some of which include:
Transfering Knowledge: Teachers provide quality education to students, which helps to create a cycle of learning, growth and innovation in the society.
Developing Thinking Process: Teachers help students develop innate thinking skills, creative, lateral, innovative all of which can help them to solve common or complex problems, to innovate new materials of technolgies for a better tomorrow, and to understand pressing societal issues and to generate solutions for them.
Inspiring Students: Motivated teachers often inspire their students to think big, dream beyond normal and pursue their unique / chosen aspirations.
Serving as Role Models: Teachers, by their demeanour, character, moral values and other social qualities can very strongly influence the overall academic growth, attitude, aptitude, moral and ethical values including personality of their students.
Introducing New Perspectives: Teachers expose students to new ideas, novel opinions, alternate viewpoints & thought processes that students might never otherwise discover. This helps in building a balanced outlook and improves their ability to see things from different perspectives.
Shaping Personality Traits: Teachers earnestly help students inculcate and build important qualities such as confidence, hardwork, dedication, truthfulness, honour, patriotism, patience, religious tolernce, harmony, humility etc. which are very crucial in developing strong personality traits.
Representing Student Rights: Often the teachers represent rights and interests of their students. They continuously inform them of associated responsibilities too. Generally speaking, this makes students more informed, tolerant and amiable.
Creating Responsible Citizens: Teachers teach, guide and menotr their students to become responsible members of society. Often many teachers take this as an important and crucial task at their hand.
Leader- Assessor-Mediator: Teachers lead from the front and create a positive impact, they design assessment tools to collect information that informs instruction and monitors student progres. They often act as mediators, especially as students grow in confidence with them.
Along their journey of life, as they shape student behaviour, knowledge, performance, profesional acumen and abilities, quite often many teachers become even higher than parents in the hearts & minds of millions of students. For what they became and where they reached in life, students remain forever indebted to their beloved teachers.
