Lucknow: In a continued effort to make Uttar Pradesh’s real estate sector more transparent and consumer-friendly, the Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) has launched its 40th Real Estate Agent Training Session at the Indian Literacy Board (ILB), Kanpur Road, Lucknow.
The four-day training programme has been designed to strengthen legal awareness, professional competence, and ethical standards among real estate agents. A total of 49 participants have registered for the session, all aiming to become certified and registered real estate professionals.
The programme was inaugurated by UP RERA Chairman Sanjay Bhoosreddy. On the occasion, ILB Director Sandhya Tiwari expressed confidence that the training would prove highly beneficial and knowledge-enhancing for all participants. UP RERA Secretary Mahendra Verma presented the detailed structure of the four-day programme and urged participants to engage with full dedication and seriousness.
Chairman’s Address
In his keynote address, Sanjay Bhoosreddy stated that the credibility of the real estate sector rests on three key pillars—promoters (developers), real estate agents, and the regulator (RERA). Effective coordination among these stakeholders is essential to protect consumer interests and strengthen the sector’s reputation.
He emphasized that the training programme provides an interactive platform through question-and-answer sessions and offers in-depth knowledge of important laws such as the RERA Act, Apartment Ownership Act, and Transfer of Property Act. The objective is to enhance the legal understanding and professional capability of agents so that promoters cannot take advantage of information gaps.
Highlighting the Construction Linked Payment Plan, he clarified that payments to promoters should be made strictly in proportion to the actual progress of construction. He added that agents also carry significant responsibility in ensuring compliance, as vigilant agents can greatly reduce the chances of consumer exploitation.
The Chairman further announced that refresher courses will be conducted periodically to keep agents updated with evolving regulations. He also introduced a dedicated “Agent Query” email facility, through which trained agents can directly contact the authority to resolve their concerns.

Key Topics Covered
On the first day, Chief Consultant Abrar Ahmed delivered an extensive presentation on the RERA Act and UP RERA rules and regulations. Adjudicating Officer Harish Tripathi elaborated on key provisions of the Contract Act and the Transfer of Property Act.
Examination and Certification Process
On the final day of the programme, an examination will be conducted under strict supervision. To ensure transparency and fairness, electronic devices including mobile phones, tablets, smartwatches, and laptops will be strictly prohibited in the examination hall. Candidates who successfully pass the exam and complete the required registration fee process will be officially registered as real estate agents.
Training Impact So Far
So far, more than 40 training sessions have been conducted in Lucknow and Greater Noida, enrolling over 2,700 candidates. Results up to the 36th session have been declared, with 1,763 participants successfully passing the examination.
Mandatory training and certification prior to registration is seen as a major policy initiative aimed at raising professional standards in the sector and safeguarding the interests of homebuyers.
The inaugural session was also attended by Financial Advisor Sudhanshu Tripathi, Joint Secretary K.K. Singh, Media Advisor Pranjal Dixit, and R.C. Yadav.
