Varanasi — The 33rd Late Ranjay Singh UP Master Athletics Championship for both men and women concluded with great enthusiasm and success, with prominent guests and dignitaries gracing the event. The chief guest, Ashok Tiwari, the Mayor of Varanasi, was warmly welcomed with a garland, shawl, and a commemorative plaque. The special guest, Rahul Singh, State President of Seva Bharati, was also honored in a similar manner for his valuable presence.
The closing ceremony witnessed a grand distribution of medals to the winners, as the Varanasi Master Athletics Association recognized the outstanding athletes of the competition. The event also saw the felicitation of all technical officials with mementos, acknowledging their contribution to the smooth conduct of the championship.
In a moment of appreciation, former legislator Chetan Narayan Singh, Master Gauri Shankar, Arvind Singh, Ram Lalit Singh, Pramod Singh, Dr. Ashok Singh, Dr. Ramashankar Singh, Pankaj Srivastava, Pawan Singh, Anand Pathak, Satendra Singh, and Akhand Singh, along with several members of the UP Master Athletics Association, were honored for their support and participation in the event.
The competition saw over 300 male and female athletes competing in various categories, showcasing remarkable talent and dedication to the sport.
The overall champion of the competition was the Varanasi district team, which outshone other teams with remarkable performances. The team included notable athletes such as Dr. Vinay Kumar Singh, Sushila Singh, Neelu Mishra, Ram Dhani, Kalam Ali, Anurag Singh, Rajesh Singh, and Ganga Sagar, among others, who contributed significantly to their team’s victory.
The event was organized by Dinesh Jaiswal, the organizing secretary, and the vote of thanks was given by Rajesh Singh, the joint secretary of the association. Other notable personalities in attendance included S.K. Singh, Ravi Pratap Singh, P.P. Singh, Neelu Mishra, Anurag Singh, Vibhor Bhargvanshi, Prabhat Bhargvanshi, and Diwakar, along with numerous sports enthusiasts.
