Lucknow: In a significant milestone for Uttar Pradesh’s startup ecosystem, Lucknow-based entrepreneur Utkarsh Singh has achieved a major breakthrough as his co-founded company, BatX Energies, secured ₹105 crore in Series A funding to accelerate its growth in the clean energy and critical minerals sector.
The company plans to utilise the fresh investment to expand its battery recycling capacity, strengthen research and development, and scale up its critical minerals recycling facility in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh.
BatX Energies specialises in recovering valuable minerals such as lithium, cobalt, nickel and graphite from end-of-life lithium-ion batteries and industrial scrap. The company aims to increase the domestic availability of these critical minerals, reduce India’s dependence on imports, and support the country’s transition to clean energy.
Utkarsh Singh, a native of Arjunganj in Lucknow, said the company’s vision extends beyond business expansion. “Our goal is to contribute towards establishing Uttar Pradesh as a hub for clean energy and advanced technology while strengthening India’s self-reliance in critical minerals,” he said.
He added that the state’s growing focus on innovation and industrial development would create more employment opportunities and encourage sustainable manufacturing. The company believes the new funding will significantly enhance production capacity and technological capabilities, helping build a resilient domestic supply chain for critical minerals essential to India’s rapidly expanding electric mobility and renewable energy sectors.
