Women’s Protest March Held in West Assembly Under “Mahila Jan Aakrosh Padyatra” Campaign in Lucknow

Lucknow: As part of the ongoing “Mahila Jan Aakrosh Padyatra” being organised across all mandals by the BJP Lucknow Metropolitan unit, a large women-led protest march was held in Mandal-3 of the West Assembly constituency. The event witnessed active participation from the BJP Mahila Morcha and several local women from the area.

The march was held under the presence of BJP Lucknow Metropolitan President Anand Dwivedi, who attended as the chief guest.

Addressing the gathering, Dwivedi said that the Central Government has consistently supported the cause of enhancing women’s political participation, including backing the Women’s Reservation Bill. He criticised opposition parties, alleging inconsistency in their stance on the issue and accusing them of indulging in “dynastic politics” while resisting women’s empowerment.

He further stated that opposition parties fear the rise of empowered women, which, according to him, could challenge entrenched political families. Dwivedi alleged that such parties have historically worked against women’s rights through “conspiratorial politics,” adding that the Mahila Jan Aakrosh campaign will continue under the leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

According to party media in-charge Anurag Sahu, several senior party functionaries and local leaders participated in the march. These included Mahila Morcha President Sita Negi, General Secretary Satyendra Singh, Archana Sahu, Chandraprakash Awasthi, Prakash Mishra, Mandal Presidents Somendra Pandey, Vivek Srivastava, Arvind Mishra, and Councillor Rekha Singh, along with Gauri Sanwariya, Babita Sharma, Sunita Rajput, Rajni Mishra, Shikha Srivastava, Reena Gupta, and a large number of local women participants.

The event concluded with calls for continued mobilisation of women under the ongoing campaign across the city.
