Lucknow: Thousands of teaching aspirants in Uttar Pradesh have a fresh opportunity to secure government teaching jobs, with the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) announcing recruitment for 15,012 posts of Assistant Teachers and Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs).
The commission has issued two recruitment advertisements covering 12,405 Assistant Teacher posts and 2,607 PGT vacancies. Applications for Assistant Teacher positions will open on September 16, 2026, while registration for PGT posts will begin on September 18.
According to UPESSC Chairman Dr Prashant Kumar, the Assistant Teacher recruitment includes 897 vacancies for Assistant Teachers attached to primary sections of aided secondary schools under the Secondary Education Department and 11,508 urban Assistant Teacher posts under the Basic Education Department.
The written examination for the Assistant Teacher recruitment is tentatively scheduled for December 3 and 4, 2026. The PGT examination is proposed for December 15 and 16.
Application Schedule
For the 12,405 Assistant Teacher posts, candidates can register and apply online from September 16. The last date for depositing the application fee is October 15, while corrections in submitted applications can be made until October 19.
For the 2,607 PGT vacancies, online applications will begin on September 18. The deadline for fee payment is October 17, and the last date for making corrections is October 21.
The commission has made One Time Registration (OTR) mandatory for candidates. Applicants must complete the OTR process before applying for the advertised posts.
UPESSC has advised candidates to carefully read the detailed recruitment advertisement and instructions before submitting their applications. Applicants must independently verify their eligibility and qualifications as specified in the official notification.
