Special Health Drive for Workers to Be Held from April 28 to May 2 in Bareilly

Bareilly: In observance of Labour Day, the Bareilly district administration has announced a special campaign for workers’ welfare, scheduled to run from April 28 to May 2, 2026. The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by District Magistrate Avinash Singh in compliance with state government directives.

During the meeting, the Deputy Labour Commissioner outlined the key components of the campaign. Teams will visit workers at their residences and workplaces to facilitate the creation of Ayushman health cards, ensuring access to government-backed healthcare benefits.

The campaign will also focus on health screening for serious illnesses such as tuberculosis, cancer, and HIV. In addition, essential items including ORS packets and sanitary napkins will be distributed among workers to promote basic health and hygiene.

Special emphasis will be placed on eye care. Workers will undergo vision tests, and those diagnosed with cataracts will be referred for surgery at the district hospital.

The District Magistrate further directed officials to raise awareness about protection from extreme heat and heatwave conditions, given the rising temperatures in the region.

Chief Medical Officer Dr. Vishram Singh, the Deputy Labour Commissioner, and other officials were present at the meeting.

The initiative aims to improve healthcare access and overall well-being of workers, particularly those in vulnerable sections, through targeted outreach and preventive care measures.
