Lucknow: Special Communicable Disease Control Campaign is starting from 1st April (Monday). During this campaign which will run till 30th April, various activities will be carried out to control communicable or vector borne diseases. For this, Yogi government has assigned responsibilities to various departments. This campaign will be run with the joint efforts of the Health Department and 12 other departments. The state government has also appealed to the people to cooperate in making the campaign successful. Also inform the health department team about the places where mosquitoes breed.
Target to make 15 districts of the state malaria free by the end of this year
In view of the rising temperatures, the government has issued necessary guidelines regarding vector-borne and water-borne diseases. Under this, instructions have been given to arrange pure and cool drinking water for people in crowded places on priority basis with mutual coordination of various departments regarding heat related diseases. Besides, facilities for shelters to protect from heat and display of weather forecast and temperature at busy places have also been asked. Instructions have been issued to give wide publicity to the measures to be taken to prevent heat web in schools and also among the general public.
It is noteworthy that to achieve the target of eradicating malaria by the year 2025, it is scheduled to make 15 districts of UP completely malaria free by the end of this year 2024. These districts are Amethi, Chandauli, Saharanpur, Mathura, Chitrakoot, Mahoba, Rae Bareli, Mainpuri, Lalitpur, Basti, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Deoria, Jalaun and Ambedkarnagar.
Dastak campaign will run in all the districts of the state from April 10
Dastak Abhiyan will also run in all the districts of the state from 10th to 30th April. Under this, health workers will go door-to-door to create awareness about cleanliness and health. Asha and Anganwadi workers will go door-to-door and upload complete details including name, address, mobile number of persons with symptoms of fever, influenza like illness (ILI), filariasis, black jar, leprosy, malnourished children on the e-Kavach portal. Also, area-wise list of houses where mosquitoes have been found breeding. Its details will be filled on the prescribed form and made available to the concerned officer.
During the campaign, Ayushman Bharat Health Account (Abha ID) will also be created in the districts. This will facilitate the treatment of patients. The health department will also have information about which disease the patient has been treated for and when. The World Health Organization and UNICEF will continuously monitor the campaign. What work and how much work was done by which department will also be monitored.
