New Delhi. Before the Lok Sabha elections 2024, National Vice President of Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) Shahid Siddiqui has resigned from the party. Siddiqui wrote on the social media platform X that I have sent my resignation letter to Rashtriya Lok Dal President Jayant Chaudhary. He said that I cannot silently watch the democratic structure of the country end. I am grateful to Jayant Singh ji and my colleagues in RLD.
Siddiqui said that yesterday I resigned from the post of National Vice President of RLD and its membership. I and my family stood up against Indira Gandhi’s Emergency and cannot stand idly by as all the institutions that have combined to make India one of the great nations of the world are weakened.
Today when India’s Constitution and democratic structure are in danger, remaining silent is a sin. Siddiqui said that today the Constitution and democratic structure of India is in danger. Remaining silent is a sin. I am grateful to Jayant ji, but with a heavy heart I am forced to distance myself from RLD. India’s unity, integrity, development and brotherhood are dear to all. It is the responsibility and duty of every citizen to save it.
