Mumbai: Walking the red carpet at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival for the very first time is a moment that feels surreal for actor Soniya Bansal. The actress, who rose to immense popularity after her appearance on Bigg Boss, once again became the talk of the internet with her stunning Cannes appearance. Dressed in a graceful pink ensemble, Soniya captivated audiences and fashion enthusiasts alike, making heads turn with her elegant yet culturally rooted look.
Speaking about the overwhelming experience, Soniya shared, “Walking at Cannes for the first time is truly like a dream coming true. It feels emotional, magical, and very special to me because I have admired this platform for years. I have watched so many iconic actors and filmmakers walk this red carpet, and somewhere deep inside, I always hoped that one day I would also get the opportunity to represent my work there. Today, standing on that carpet feels unreal, and I am filled with gratitude.”
For her debut appearance, Soniya consciously chose to stay connected to her Indian heritage. She wore a beautifully designed outfit by renowned designer Dolly J, inspired by Goddess Radha. The outfit reflected grace, femininity, and timeless Indian elegance. “My intention was not just to wear something glamorous but something meaningful,” she explained. “I wanted my look to celebrate Indian tradition and artistry. The inspiration from Goddess Radha added emotional depth and softness to the entire appearance. I believe fashion should also tell a story, and this look was my way of carrying a piece of India with me to Cannes.”
Soniya attended the festival for her film The Last Breath, a project that holds immense importance in her career. Representing her film at one of the biggest global cinema platforms became an emotional milestone for the actress. “For a few moments, I honestly could not believe it was happening,” she admitted. “Representing my film at Cannes after all the hard work and dedication feels deeply rewarding. It is not just a personal achievement but also a proud moment for everyone who has supported me throughout my journey.”
Talking about her preparation for the much-awaited red carpet debut, Soniya revealed that her team worked tirelessly on every detail, from styling and outfits to makeup and presentation. However, beyond the glamour and preparation, she wanted to embrace the experience wholeheartedly.
