Lucknow: A review meeting of the cluster projects approved under the Sphurti scheme was held in the meeting hall of Khadi Bhawan under the chairmanship of Dr. Ujjwal Kumar, Chief Executive Officer of Uttar Pradesh Khadi and Village Industries Board. In this meeting, representatives related to the cluster of the district provided detailed information about the approved projects.
The Chief Executive Officer directed that immediate action should be taken for those cluster projects for which the second installment amount has not been received yet. Also, a request should be made to the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India for the inauguration of Hand Block Print Cluster, Farrukhabad district.
Apart from this, another meeting of Khadi institutions funded by Uttar Pradesh Khadi and Village Industries was also held under the chairmanship of the Chief Executive Officer. In this meeting, the export of Khadi and making the production of Khadi in the country in accordance with the demand of the modern market was discussed in detail. After considering the suggestions of the representatives of the institutions, the Chief Executive Officer assured action as per the rules.
In the meeting, emphasis was laid on making Khadi compatible with modern fashion and connecting Khadi institutions to e-commerce marketplace. Apart from the representatives from various districts, Board’s financial advisor Manvendra Singh, senior joint chief executive officer N.P. Maurya, joint chief executive officer Siddharth Yadav and other departmental officers were also present in both the meetings.
