Lucknow: On the occasion of International Music Day, the Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Akademi resonated with devotional Ram bhajans alongside celebrations of the 12th International Yoga Day, creating a unique blend of music, culture, and wellness at its campus on Sunday.
The programme was organized in line with the cultural promotion and preservation policy of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, under the guidance of Culture and Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh, and conceptualized by Akademi Chairman Prof. Jayant Khot and Vice Chairperson Vibha Singh.
During the event, invited artists including singer Rahul Awasthi presented the soulful bhajan “Ram Charan Sukhdayi” in Raag Charukeshi, while Dr. Anjani Kumar Mishra performed devotional compositions including “Ram Ramaiya Gaye Ja” and “Shivnath Teri Mahima.” Their performances, supported by their disciples, captivated the audience. The musical accompaniment by Anant Prajapati on tabla and Ilyas Khan on harmonium was widely appreciated.
The programme also marked the observance of International Yoga Day with a large-scale yoga session conducted under the guidance of yoga expert Krishna Dutt Mishra. Officers, staff members of the Akademi, and participants from various summer workshops actively took part in the yoga practice sessions.

Addressing the gathering, Krishna Dutt Mishra emphasized the importance of integrating yoga into daily life, stating that individuals must strive to cultivate inner purity and discipline, symbolically described as bringing the “flow of Ganga within oneself.” He added that consistent yoga practice leads to physical fitness and mental awakening.
Participants including Rajkumar, Rishabh Mishra, Vibha Singh, Shobhana Dwivedi, and Israr Khan also demonstrated yoga postures on stage, reinforcing the message of holistic wellness.
The programme was efficiently conducted by Dr. Rajni Singh and Sampurna Shukla, concluding on a harmonious note that blended spiritual music and yogic discipline, reflecting India’s rich cultural and wellness traditions.
