PM Modi Inaugurates Development Projects Worth ₹1,220 Crore at Statue of Unity in Gujarat

Ekta Nagar (Narmada), Gujarat | Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday inaugurated and dedicated development projects worth ₹1,220 crore at the Statue of Unity complex in Ekta Nagar, Narmada district, marking another milestone in Gujarat’s journey toward sustainable and inclusive growth.

The newly unveiled projects encompass sectors such as tourism, sports, infrastructure, and environmental sustainability, furthering the government’s vision of transforming Ekta Nagar into a model destination for integrated development.

Commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Prime Minister also released a ₹150 commemorative coin and a special postal stamp, issued by the Reserve Bank of India and India Post, respectively.

The event began with an engaging audio-visual presentation showcasing defining moments from the life of India’s Iron Man — highlighting his courage, leadership, and pivotal role in unifying princely states such as Junagadh, Hyderabad, and Kashmir. The performance by artists from the National School of Drama was met with loud applause from the audience.

Among the major projects inaugurated were the Museum of Royal Kingdoms of India (₹367.25 crore), Visitor Centre (₹140.45 crore), Veer Balak Udyan (₹90.46 crore), Travelator Extension (₹27.43 crore), Sports Complex (₹23.60 crore), Jetty Development (₹12.50 crore), and Rain Forest (₹12.85 crore). In a significant push toward green mobility, 25 new e-buses worth ₹30 crore were also launched.

The Prime Minister additionally laid the foundation stone for several major infrastructure works, including Birsa Munda Bhavan (₹303 crore), Hospitality District Phase I (₹54.65 crore), Satpura Protection Wall and Riverfront (₹20.72 crore), Bonsai Garden (₹18.68 crore), E-Bus Charging Depot (₹5.52 crore), and Smart Bus Stops Phase II (₹4.68 crore).

Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister Modi said, “Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s vision of unity continues to guide India’s journey. The projects inaugurated today embody our nation’s commitment to progress, sustainability, and inclusive development.”

The programme concluded with a cultural extravaganza celebrating the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’, symbolizing India’s unity in diversity.

Thousands of visitors, dignitaries, armed forces personnel, and senior officials attended the grand ceremony at the world’s tallest statue, the Statue of Unity, a global emblem of India’s strength and unity.

Minister and State Spokesperson Jitu Vaghani announced that a grand Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebration would take place at Ekta Nagar on October 31, to honour Sardar Patel’s 150th birth anniversary.
