Night Chaupal Programmes Held Across Bareilly to Strengthen Public Outreach and Grievance Redressal

Bareilly: As part of the statewide public outreach campaign being conducted from June 5 to June 21 to mark the completion of 12 years of the Central Government, ‘Ratri Chaupal’ (Night Chaupal) programmes were organized across various development blocks of Bareilly district to promote development, public service, good governance, and welfare initiatives.

The programmes were held at Gram Panchayat Gaini in Majhgawan Block in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Minister for Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Dharampal Singh, at Gram Panchayat Bohit in Bhojipura Block under the leadership of Bareilly MP Chhatrapal Gangwar, and at Nakti Narayanpur village in Bhadpura Block in the presence of Nawabganj MLA Dr. M.P. Arya.

Organized with the objective of taking government welfare schemes directly to rural communities and ensuring prompt resolution of public grievances, the Night Chaupal events witnessed active participation from villagers. Residents raised issues related to electricity supply, drinking water, road infrastructure, encroachment, ration distribution, and access to various government schemes.

Officials from concerned departments listened to the grievances and resolved many complaints on the spot. For issues requiring further action, instructions were issued to the respective departments to ensure timely resolution. Officials reiterated that addressing public concerns remains a priority in line with the government’s commitment to citizen-centric governance.

The programmes also served as an awareness platform for various welfare schemes being implemented by the Central and State Governments. Officials informed eligible beneficiaries about the benefits available under different schemes, the application process, and the necessary documentation required to avail themselves of government assistance.

During the events, MP Chhatrapal Gangwar and MLA Dr. M.P. Arya also participated in a traditional God Bharai (baby shower) ceremony for pregnant women under the Integrated Child Development and Nutrition Programme, highlighting the government’s focus on maternal and child welfare.

The programmes were attended by Legislative Council Member Bahoran Lal Maurya, Additional District Magistrate (Finance and Revenue) Santosh Kumar Singh, Chief Development Officer Dr. Vishram Singh, officials from various departments, and a large number of local residents.

The Night Chaupal initiative provided a valuable platform for direct interaction between government representatives and citizens, reinforcing efforts to improve service delivery, strengthen public participation, and ensure that welfare benefits reach every eligible household in rural areas.
