Lucknow Mayor Sushma Kharkwal Joins ‘Bada Mangal’ Celebrations, Participates in Multiple Bhandaras Across City

Lucknow: On the auspicious occasion of the third Tuesday of the Hindu month of Jyeshtha, popularly known as ‘Bada Mangal’, Mayor Sushma Kharkwal actively participated in a series of religious and community events held across the city, offering prayers, distributing prasad, and extending greetings to devotees.

The day-long engagements included participation in Sundarkand recitations, large community bhandaras, and religious gatherings organised at multiple locations, where the Mayor prayed for the prosperity, good health and well-being of the citizens of Uttar Pradesh.

Participation at Hazratganj Bhandara

The Mayor visited the grand bhandara organised by the Uttar Pradesh Photo Journalists Association at Media Point in Hazratganj. She interacted with devotees, distributed prasad, and appreciated the organisers for their service-oriented initiative that brought together people from different walks of life.

Presence at Grand Bhandara in Gomtinagar

Later, she attended the 17th grand bhandara organised near Web Cinema, Sahara Market in Vibhuti Khand, Gomtinagar. Uttar Pradesh Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh was also present on the occasion along with several dignitaries.

The Mayor praised the efforts of organiser and BJP leader Pradeep Singh Babbu, noting that such events reflect strong traditions of social service and community participation.

Religious Programme in Indiranagar

In Indiranagar’s C-Block at Agarwal Plaza, she participated in the 22nd Sundarkand path and bhandara organised by Sita Maiya Rasoi. The event saw active participation from devotees, with the Mayor distributing prasad and offering prayers.

The programme was organised under the leadership of Sanjeev Pathak, Mandal General Secretary (East-3) and former councillor candidate from Maithilisharan Gupt Ward.

Participation in Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Snatak Sangh Event

The Mayor also attended a religious gathering and bhandara organised by the Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Snatak Sangh at Indiranagar. Local representatives, including councillor representative Ram Kumar Verma, were present during the event.

Visit to Mamta Charitable Trust Bhandara

At Malviya Nagar in Aishbagh, she participated in the 17th bhandara organised by Mamta Charitable Trust. BJP Awadh region vice-president and trust founder Rajeev Mishra, along with several dignitaries, welcomed her at the event.

Engagement in Aliganj

The Mayor also visited Ravindra Garden in Aliganj Sector-E, where she distributed prasad among devotees attending another grand community bhandara. The event was attended by organiser Ajay Kumar Gupta, senior journalist Ajay Dubey, and other prominent citizens.

Bhutnath Market Bhandara

In Bhutnath area, she participated in the 30th grand bhandara organised by the Lucknow Vyapar Mandal. A large number of traders and community leaders, including Devendra Gupta, Arvind Pathak, Uttam Kapoor, Lavkush Rajani, Mohit Garg, Nadeem Khan, Gaurav Agrawal, Rishabh Gupta, and Sandeep Rastogi, were present.

“Bada Mangal is a Festival of Service and Harmony”

Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Sushma Kharkwal said that Bada Mangal is not only a festival of religious faith but also a symbol of service, devotion and social harmony. She said such events strengthen community bonds and promote unity among people.

She concluded by offering prayers to Lord Shri Ram and Lord Hanuman for the happiness, prosperity, and peaceful life of all citizens.
