Lucknow: Lucknow District Magistrate Vishakh G. inspected rain-affected areas in Lasa and Akadiya Kala villages on Monday and reviewed the ongoing relief and rescue arrangements following heavy rainfall and rising water levels in the district.
During the field inspection, the District Magistrate assessed the water level and the status of relief and rescue operations in the affected villages. He also interacted with local residents to understand their problems and immediate requirements.
Vishakh directed the concerned officials to provide prompt assistance to affected residents based on their needs. He instructed authorities to increase the number of boats immediately wherever required to facilitate movement and ensure that relief and rescue operations continue smoothly. Boats should also be deployed to shift residents to safer locations in the event of an emergency.
The District Magistrate directed officials to ensure adequate distribution of essential medicines through health camps and provide necessary assistance to affected families.
He further instructed the authorities to continuously monitor water levels and rainfall conditions in the affected areas and ensure immediate relief and rescue measures in case of any emergency. The safety and convenience of affected villagers, he stressed, must remain the highest priority.
Additional District Magistrate (Finance and Revenue), the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of BKT, the Tehsildar of BKT and other departmental officials were present during the inspection.
