Lucknow: Ajay Kumar Singh, National President of the National Human Rights Foundation, has expressed concern over delays in delivering justice to victims, urging administrative officials to act impartially and strictly in accordance with the law, without yielding to political or influential pressure.
Addressing a press conference, Singh said the growing number of complainants attending Janata Darshan programmes and Sampoorna Samadhan Diwas grievance redressal camps organised by senior officials indicates that many citizens are unable to secure timely resolution of their grievances at the local administrative level.
He stressed that victims approach the administration with the expectation of receiving prompt and fair justice, and that officials must discharge their duties in accordance with the Constitution and the rule of law.
“Officials should not work under any political pressure or in favour of influential individuals. They must stand with the law and justice,” Singh said, adding that administrative decisions should be based solely on legal provisions and verified facts rather than external influence.
The National Human Rights Foundation chief also observed that wealthy and influential individuals often attempt to influence the administrative system. However, he maintained that the law treats every citizen equally and that public officials must ensure equal treatment for ordinary citizens and influential persons alike.

Emphasising the importance of impartial governance, Singh said the primary responsibility of government officials is to uphold the Constitution and the justice delivery system. According to him, unbiased decision-making is essential for protecting the human rights of the most vulnerable sections of society.
He further stated that a lack of impartiality among public officials can lead to violations of human rights and erode public confidence in government institutions. Singh called for greater integrity, transparency, and accountability within the administrative system to ensure that every citizen receives justice without discrimination.
The remarks were made as an appeal for strengthening public trust in governance and reinforcing the principles of fairness and equality in the administration of justice.
