Rohilkhand University Organises Speech Competition as Part of Deekshotsav 2026

Bareilly: Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJPRU), Bareilly, organised a speech competition as part of the Deekshotsav 2026 celebrations leading up to its 24th Convocation. The event was held under the inspiration of Chancellor and Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and the guidance of Vice-Chancellor Prof. K. P. Singh.

The competition was conducted in schools located in villages adopted by the university, with the theme “My School.” Students enthusiastically participated, sharing their experiences and expressing their affection and gratitude for their schools through thoughtful and heartfelt speeches.

Addressing the students, Vice-Chancellor Prof. K. P. Singh said that a school serves as a child’s second home and plays a vital role in shaping an individual’s overall personality. He noted that the education, discipline, values, and supportive environment provided by schools lay the foundation for future success. He encouraged students to remain responsible and committed to their educational institutions and described speech competitions as an effective platform for enhancing confidence, communication skills, and socio-cultural development.

Cultural Coordinator Dr. Jyoti Pandey said the primary objective of the competition was to instil a sense of pride, responsibility, and belonging among students towards their schools. Participants reflected on memorable classroom experiences, the guidance of teachers, sports and cultural activities, and the role their schools have played in their personal growth.

Students from schools in Dohariya Dohra, Etoba Beniram, Lalpur, and nearby areas took part in the event. Each participant presented their speech in a unique style, highlighting the distinctive features of their school and the values they had gained through their educational journey. Several students expressed their deep emotional attachment to their schools and acknowledged the contribution of teachers in shaping their future.

The competition was organised with the support of Registrar Mahendra Kumar, Cultural Coordinator Dr. Jyoti Pandey, members of the University Cultural Committee, and the principals and teachers of the participating schools.
