The tournament will feature some of the biggest names in tennis, including World No. 14 Anna Kalinskaya, former US Open Champion Emma Raducanu, and 2020 WTA Player of the Year Sofia Kenin, all of whom will be making their debuts in Singapore.

Kalinskaya, who recently achieved a career-high ranking of World No. 11 after reaching the quarterfinals of the 2024 Australian Open, will headline the tournament as the top-ranked player. Known for her precision and powerful play, Kalinskaya’s debut in Singapore is eagerly awaited by local fans. “I’m thrilled to be participating in the first Singapore Tennis Open, which will also be my first visit to Singapore. I’ve heard wonderful things about the city’s multiculturalism and the fervor of the supporters. I’m excited to play at the brand-new Kallang Tennis Hub and hope to have a fantastic event there,” said Kalinskaya.

Emma Raducanu, a crowd favorite and the 2021 US Open Champion, will join the star-studded lineup. Raducanu has shown remarkable consistency in 2024, highlighted by a historic victory over World No. 5 Jessica Pegula at the Rothesay International. The former British No. 1 is currently ranked No. 10 in the WTA singles rankings and is poised to make a significant impact at the STO 2025.

Sofia Kenin, the 2020 Australian Open champion, will also be competing in the main draw. Kenin, who reached a career-high World No. 4 in 2020, is known for her aggressive playing style and resilience on the court. Fans can expect an exciting performance from the American as she seeks to return to her best form after a period of recovery.

Mertens, a two-time Australian Open champion and a US Open doubles winner, will be making her singles debut in Singapore, and is excited about the prospect. “It will be an amazing first time for me to attend the Singapore Tennis Open at a new stadium since I have heard so much about Singapore and its supporters. Playing in the first event is always exciting, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it!” Mertens said.

Wang Xinyu, who triumphed in the 2023 French Open doubles and secured a landmark win over Jessica Pegula at Wimbledon, is also poised to showcase her singles talents. Currently ranked World No. 34, Wang’s rise in the WTA rankings has been impressive, and she will be eager to impress her growing fanbase in Asia.
