Lucknow: The police have registered an FIR against the owner of an apartment and others after a raid in Malhaur’s Shakti Apartment revealed that 10 foreign women were residing in six flats.
Following complaints of suspicious activities, the Chinhat police conducted a raid and found that all 10 women were from Thailand. During the investigation, passports and visas were recovered, but the women could not provide a valid reason for their stay.
The apartment owner, Shakti Singh, also failed to provide any details regarding their stay. During interrogation, one of the women disclosed that her boyfriend, Archit, had arranged the accommodation for her.
Based on the findings, Chinhat police have registered a case under sections 61 and 318(4) of the BNS, Section 14A and 7(1) of the Foreigners Act, 1946, and Section 5 of the Foreigners Registration Act, 1939, against Shakti Singh, Archit, and others involved in the matter.
